5 processes for a SUCCESSFUL bridal hair & makeup business

bridal business coach for hair and makeup artists

Hey, I’m Zoe, I’m a Hair & Makeup Artist as well as a beauty business educator and female business coach based in Essex.

I support Hair & Makeup Artists with showing up authentically, building their personal brand & scaling their business!

Here are my 5 processes to running a successful, happier and healthier bridal hair and makeup business:

1. Get set up on a CRM system.

Also known as a customer relationship management system. This will help streamline your bridal booking process keeping you more organised and creating a better customer journey.

If you’re a VIBE member, we have a tutorial on how to use a CRM system called: ‘Studio Ninja’.

2. Have Terms and Conditions in place.

…And STICK TO THEM.

Think about your payment terms, cancelation policy, travel charges, your liability etc

This will not only help to protect you and your beauty business but they enable clients to take you more seriously.

If you’re a VIBE member, we have a helpful guide and template to support you with creating your very own T&C’s.

3. Have a minimum wedding day spend or day rate in place.

This prevents any resentment or FOMO and more importantly your time and skills are VALUABLE.

If you’re a VIBE member, you can check out our hair and makeup rate card and wedding HMUA pricing structure.

4. Have set days and appointment slots for bridal trials.

For example my bridal Hair and Makeup  business Knot Your Average Bride, I host my bridal trials on Mondays between 10 am and 1 pm.

Having set appointment slots allows you a bit more structure and routine within your Hair and Makeup business which can be so important when you’re freelance.

If you’re a VIBE member, you can see how I prep for my bridal trials also see my Hair & Makeup wedding day schedule template.

5. Don’t open your books too early.

Have you ever accepted a wedding booking 2 or maybe even 3 years in advance and then by the time it comes around your pricing and style has changed and you end up regretting and even resenting the job?

For me personally, I don’t open up for books for the following year until the end of summer once I’ve had time to assess and analyse my current situation.

So there we have it my beauty business babes!
